Homework

  1. Analyze your questionnaire results to see the role time plays.

  2. Select a time structure for your timeline. Examples of a structure are density (many things happening at once), small multiples (many things happening individually), regular intervals (milestones indicated), or narrative (plot supported by characters, setting and theme).

  3. Investigate your questionnaire responses further. Emphasize the importance, spontaneity, deliberateness, etc. of obtaining the object. For example, how would you represent the anticipation of waiting 24 hours for the results of an eBay auction versus finding something on a street corner?

  4. Create a timeline that integrates objective or statistical data as a counterpoint to the personal experience information.
